after several weekend excursions, i think we finally found a wedding venue!

darlington house in downtown la jolla, one block from the ocean.

it's super cute and quaint and every piece of furniture and wall decoration has a story and a unique origin. it has three beautiful outdoor patios, including one which has these gorgeous blue hand-painted spanish tiles in the floor and on the walls. i love that you can really feel how much personal thought and care went into the design and furnishing of each room of this house (even the bathrooms!), and the whole place just has a warm and inviting feel. AND better yet, the money goes towards providing housing for the low-income seniors who live in the building next door. all-in-all, this place is tops. i think this could be it. =D

happy chinese new year! year of the ox- a time for diligence, tolerance, and persistence- perfect for going after that phd...MOOOO

arghh it looks like things are not working out with dates and family obligations and stuff, so it's all up in the air again.... plus the darlington house would be very difficult logistically. =( so we are probably going with this other place in rancho santa fe...

Awwww sorry to hear that. :( I'm sure the other place will make for just as lovely a wedding, though!
