it's official- i am the biggest loser in the lab march madness pool! my bracket is dead dead dead, and as last in the pool, i get my $10 back! hooray! :D i did have an exciting run there, being tied for first after the first round, but it all went downhill from there...but i do have to say i am very excited about this result. :D
today i also turned 28. :) hello, adulthood! it is chasing me down now. as lisa put it, it is my last birthday as a miss and not a mrs, and also as a miss and not a dr! every year on my birthday i feel so lucky to have such amazing friends, and this year is no different. thank you for the e-mails, chats, texts and presents. i am having a really good birthday. :)
my recent lifestyle has been ridiculous. it's really hard not to hate your life when you're in lab for 12+ hours every single day for almost 2 weeks and your results come out and show that things are not working. and then...your computer hard drive fails catastrophically, wiping out 2 weeks of work with it. great stuff. really tests your character (a test which i sadly did not pass, haha). luckily menzies found a way to piece me and my craptastic computer back together (with new hard drive courtesy of apple), and monica organized a birthday brunch so i could actually take a day off and see friends... it's amazing how much that works wonders for the mood and perspective. actually, it's not surprising at all.
to my amazing friends, i love you. this week is better than last week, and 28 is better than 27.

Yay!!! So painful to read about your computer and lab travails. :( But I'm really, really glad things are looking better now. :) Enjoy the evening!
remember your weight graph you did? i'm working on mine now.... not back to pre-pregnancy yet, but close enough to start the graph! ;)
